Chapter
The
New York Water Environment Association, Inc. (NYWEA)
consists of seven local chapters representing the various geographic
regions
across the State: the Capital, Central,
Genesee, Long Island, Lower Hudson,
Metropolitan and Western.
<>The Genesee Valley Chapter covers Monroe, Livingston,
Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Yates,
Steuben,
Schuyler, Chemung and Orleans
counties.>

NYWEA was founded in 1929 by professionals in the field of
water quality as a non-profit, educational organization focused on
protecting
and enhancing our water resources.>

Members include civil and environmental engineers,
biologists, chemists, local and state government officials, treatment
plant
managers and operators, laboratory technicians, students, professors,
lawyers,
environmental scientists, equipment manufacturers and distributors.>

NYWEA is a Member Association of the International Water
Environment
Federation, which is comprised of 64 member associations (19 of which
are international),
6 recognized operator associations, and affiliation with 3 additional
corresponding
international organizations.>
